Recycling Center Opens on Timberlane

The city has announced a new recycling location that will make it easier for us to be “green.” The site is at 841 Timberlane across from the East Lansing School Administration Building.

Items collected at this location include:

Boxboard
Corrugated Cardboard
Newspaper
Magazines
Mixed Papers (junk mail, office paper, etc.)
#1 PET Bottles
#2 PET Bottles

Tin cans, aluminum cans/foil, and glass bottles will not be collected at this site at this time, but can continue to be added to your blue recycling bin or taken to the Department of Public Works site off of Coolidge Road.

Additionally, phone books can be recycled at the DPW site now through September 1st. To prevent unwanted delivery of new telephone books, visit www.yellowpagesgoesgreen.org.

Since the City's recycling program began in 1991, we have recycled 65 million pounds of materials!
